Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella criticizes India's CAA Law
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella criticized India's discriminatory Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019.

Satya Nadella criticized CAA and expressed his view on CAA Law. Ben Smith, Editor-in-Chief of BuzzFeed News, asked a question to the CEO regarding the pressure on firms in India in the purview of CAA. He humbly replied,
“I think what is happening is sad… It’s just bad…. I would love to see a Bangladeshi immigrant who comes to India and creates the next unicorn in India or becomes the next CEO of Infosys.”

It’s a very rare situation for CEOs of tech companies to take a stand on political issues, particularly when they aren’t directly affected. Satya Nadella bucked the trend today, as he's an Indian born CEO and he criticized India’s controversial Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) that excludes Muslim emigrants from obtaining citizenship in India.
Later on, Microsoft published a statement, in which Satya Nadella said that,
“Every country will and should define its borders, protect national security and set immigration policy accordingly. And in democracies, that is something that the people and their governments will debate and define within those bounds. I’m shaped by my Indian heritage, growing up in a multicultural India and my immigrant experience in the United States. My hope is for an India where an immigrant can aspire to found a prosperous start-up or lead a multinational corporation benefitting Indian society and the economy at large”.

Anyhow, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella criticizes India's discriminatory CAA Law makes him trend today's news.
